The Monument of the Revolutionary Act
The monument is also known under the name of the Revolutionary Fighting Monument. Without a doubt it is something that Rzeszow is best known for. The author of Nike sculpture, as well as the sculpture of the soldier, the face of a boy and the labourer holding a revolutionary banner, was a rector of Cracow Academy of Fine Arts - Marian Konieczny who hailed from the Rzeszow region. The foundations of the monument consist of several dozen 10 metres long stakes from reinforced concrete. The bay leafs are made of 37 pairs of segments, each over 1 metre high, also made from reinforced concrete. The monument was officially presented on the 1st of May 1974. During the construction process 180 nails were used. The monument stands unchanged till today. The only difference is the city crest that was mounted later at the top.
